Sam’s Super Energy Adventure

Once upon a time, there was a grown-up named Sam who had a big problem. She was tired ALL the time! Every morning, she felt like she could barely get out of bed. When her children wanted to play, she was too sleepy. At work, she could hardly keep her eyes open. Sam felt sad because she wanted to have fun and do things, but she just didn’t have enough energy.

One day, Sam met a wise helper named Elizabeth. Elizabeth knew a special secret about food and energy!

“Sam,” Elizabeth said with a kind smile, “I know why you’re so tired. You’ve been eating the wrong kinds of food!”

Sam was confused. “But I eat food every day!” she said.

Elizabeth explained something very important: “Not everything that looks like food is really food. Some things are pretend food—they taste yummy, but they don’t give your body the energy it needs. They’re like putting the wrong fuel in a car. The car won’t run well!”

The Three Types of Things We Eat

Elizabeth explained to Sam that there are three things:

One, Real Food - These are things that grow from the earth, like apples, carrots, berries, and nuts. They’re full of sunshine energy that plants captured and saved just for us!

Two, Pretend Food - These are things that started as real food but got changed so much in factories that they lost their energy. This includes white bread, sugary cereals, and candy.

Three, Not Food - These are things made in factories that never were real food. They might taste good, but they trick our bodies and make us tired.

“Your body is like a magical machine,” Elizabeth explained. “It needs the right fuel to work. Real food from plants gives you sunshine energy. Pretend food make you tired and grumpy.”

Sam’s Challenge

Elizabeth gave Sam a special challenge: “For seven days, only eat real food. Eat lots of colourful fruits and vegetables, nuts, and foods that come from the earth. See how you feel!”

The first few days were hard. Sam missed her sugary snacks and processed stuff. But something amazing started to happen...

On day four, Sam woke up without feeling tired!

On day six, she played with her children for a whole hour and still had energy left!

On day seven, she didn’t need coffee to stay awake at work!

Sam couldn’t believe it! She felt like a superhero with super energy!

Three Months Later

After three months of eating real food, Sam’s life was completely different. She had so much energy! She could do so many things, such as, play with her children every day; do great work without feeling sleepy; exercise because it was fun and spend happy time with her family at night

Her shopping cart looked different too. Instead of boxes and packages, it was full of colorful fruits, crunchy vegetables, and healthy nuts. She learned that the best foods are the ones that look like they came straight from a garden or a tree!

Sam’s children noticed the change too. “Mummy, you’re not tired anymore!” they said happily. “You play with us so much now!”

Sam smiled. She had learned the most important lesson: when we eat real food that gives us good energy, we can enjoy everything else in our lives!

The Big Lesson

Just like Sam learned, we all need to eat well to have good energy. When we eat real food—fruits, vegetables, nuts, and things that grow from the earth—our bodies get the sunshine energy they need. With good energy, we can play, learn, help others, and enjoy every day!

Think of your body like a toy that needs batteries. If you put in good batteries (real food), the toy works great and you can play for a long time. If you put in bad batteries (pretend food), the toy stops working and you can’t have fun anymore.

Sam’s story teaches us that eating well isn’t just about being healthy—it’s about having enough energy to do all the things we love! When we have good energy, we can amongst other things, play with our friends, learn new things at school, help our family, try new adventures and be happy and kind to all other beings.

Your Own Energy Adventure

Just like Sam, you can choose to eat foods that give you super energy! Next time you’re hungry, remember:

Choose colourful fruits and vegetables—they’re full of sunshine energy!

Eat nuts and seeds—they’re like tiny energy packages!

Drink water instead of sugary drinks—your body loves water!

Ask yourself: “Did this food grow from the earth, or was it made in a factory?”

When you eat real food, you’re giving your body exactly what it needs to help you run, jump, play, learn, and have the best day ever!

And that’s the end of Sam’s story. She learned that eating well gives us the energy to enjoy everything else in our lives. And now you know this special secret too!

Remember: Good food = Good energy = Good life! When we take care of our bodies by eating real food, we can do all the amazing things we want to do!
